How We Approach CIAM
We start from the user journey. Who registers, who gets invited, which organizations they belong to, what happens when a customer enables SSO, and which claims your APIs actually trust.
Then we encode that in Auth0: Universal Login with the right branding, which legal will accept. Actions reviewed like application code (IaC), Organizations for B2B isolation, enterprise connections for partners, and different MFA levels depending on the risk of the use case.
CIAM Questions
Is Auth0 the same as Okta?
Okta Customer Identity (formerly Auth0 by Okta) sits between your application and the user (usually an external user, a consumer). Okta Workforce Identity sits between your enterprise ecosystem and employees/contractors. Zelto implements both systems. If the only problem is employee login to company apps, Okta Workforce Identity may be the right fit.
What does Identity as Code mean here?
Login, Actions, and connection config as reviewable artifacts, fully in code, not click-configured in the dashboard and existing only as team know-how. You should be able to say why a given claim is present, who approved an Action, and how to rebuild the environment.
Do you do Organizations and SSO for enterprise customers?
Yes. Organizations, SSO and enterprise federation are the standard shape of a B2B setup. Auth0 is very flexible in this regard - CIAM should match how you sell.
Can Auth0 and Okta run together?
Yes. Employees authenticate through Workforce Identity. Customers and partners through Auth0. Zelto implements both and will recommend accordingly if you only need one - or will advise on the best way to connect both worlds.
